Jason helped launch the alternative music news destination The Tripwire / theTRIPWIRE.com / where he composed original feature articles on rising artists, critiqued new album releases, traveled with bands, documented live concerts, festivals, musical events, and oversaw editorial content as website administrator from 2001-04.
Jason returned to the TRIPWIRE as a nomadic rock ‘n’ roll journalist when the online music toolkit opened to the public in 2007 and wrote feature articles on bands such as Morrissey, Ezra Furman, Maritime, and Imperial Teen.

BELLEVUE MENTAL HOSPITAL is a visual time dash through the distorted memory banks of Auggie Joust who voluntarily sequesters his miserable self into a psychotic narcotic prison in the year 2005. Placed under the suspicious supervision of Dr. Vic Himmerick, the boy finds his muse, looses his marbles and documents the hedonistic behavior of every slutty hipster that penetrated the evil heart of the Capitol Hill cool scene through 2007 in Seattle America. This 150-page, 23,000 word novella was written by Jason Anfinsen, declared an "improvising empire builder" by the Capitol Hill Times, compared to a "Quentin Tarantino character" by Now Toronto Magazine, and labeled "scathingly funny" by New City Chicago. He is the author of the books Juke All Over Your Face & Stab At Sleep and features writer for The Tripwire.
